Experience Shanghai Through Local Eyes
Shanghai is famous for its impressive skyline, modern buildings and historic attractions. But there is another side of Shanghai that many visitors never get to see.
Shanghai is my home, and I would love to show you the neighbourhoods where local people live, shop, exercise, meet friends and enjoy their free time.
We can walk through small residential streets, visit local markets and explore parks where people practise tai chi, dance, play music or simply relax together.
Sometimes we may meet local people and have a friendly conversation. I can help with the language and explain more about daily life and traditions in Shanghai.
There is no fixed route. I will plan the tour around your interests and the time you have available. We can take our time, stop for a local snack or explore an interesting street along the way.
My experience is that some of the nicest memories visitors take home come from these simple moments of everyday life.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Plan Your Shanghai Local Life Tour
I will meet you in your hotel lobby, and we will start our tour from there. An eight-hour day gives us plenty of time to explore different neighbourhoods without rushing.
Much of this experience is on foot. We can use the metro or DiDi taxis when that makes travelling easier. Please let me know if you prefer shorter walks or more frequent breaks.
At the end of the tour, I will bring you back to your hotel or another agreed place in downtown Shanghai. We will agree on the program and any additional costs before you confirm your booking.
When you contact me, please tell me your travel date, hotel location, group size and preferred tour length.
You can also tell me what interests you most: local neighbourhoods, traditional markets, parks, everyday culture or meeting local people.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The photographs show examples of local life. The people and activities we encounter will naturally vary from day to day.
